TNI Bureau: A new look Team India outplayed former World Champions England in the first T20 match in Pune. The win came as a big relief to the depleted Indian team that lost the test series against England.
India won the toss and elected to field. England scored 157/6 in 20 overs. Alex Hales (56), Luke Wright (34), Samit Patel (24) and Jos Buttler (33) were the top contributors. Ashok Dinda took two wickets, while Yuvraj Singh took three wickets.
India reached 158/5 in 17.5 overs and won the match by 5 wickets. Kohli (21), Yuvraj (38), Raina (26) and Dhoni (24*) were the top contributors. Tim Bresnan took two wickets. Yuvraj Singh was declared ‘Man of the Match’.
