In a surprising development, disgraced cricketer S Sreesanth has issued a statement, claiming innocence in the spot-fixing scandal. Sreesanth expressed confidence in judiciary and said he would be proved innocent.

Sreesanth further expressed hope that his dignity and pride would be restored soon. I was never involved in any sort of spot-fixing, he claimed even as the Delhi Police sought to produce strong evidence against him.
Bail pleas of Sreesanth and two other cricketers Ankeet Chavan and Ajit Chandila were rejected today and their police remand was extended by five more days.
