As a masala flick ‘Himmatwala’ may grab big success at the box office since the film is full of masala, but Sajid Khan fails badly as a director in the film. Ajay Devgn has tried his best to shoulder the film with admiring stunts and dialogues, but it could not save the film.
It is not that you remake a blockbuster hit of the previous era and people will accept it based on the craze of the earlier film. In fact many films have flopped in this conception. But Sajid Khan’s ability deserves applause since he has beautifully attempted to present the old wine in the new bottle. But the able director of ‘Heyy Babyy’ and ‘Housefull’ series severely fails this time.
Tamannah, as a dancer is very good, but when it comes to acting, she still needs to know many points to prove her as a veteran.
Sajid Khan has tried to recreate everything including the songs, sets and choreography of the long gone era of Jitendra and Sridevi to lead the audience to the golden era, but it could not be a successful deal this time.
Performances – Melodrama and overacting ruins everything. Even veteran actor like Paresh Rawal struggles hard to act to the immature script.
Verdict – If only you are an ardent fan of Ajay Devgn or ‘Masala Films’ you may watch it for once, but don’t go along with your rational mind (as you may miss to get answers to many questions), lest you cannot enjoy.
