In a shocking incident an 11 year old girl was set on fire to death over stealing of few pomegranates, by two cruel women in Deogarh district of Odisha. The victim’s only mistake was that she revealed names of her friends to the owner of the garden, from where she had plucked some pomegranates along with her 3 friends.
Sulochana Sahoo (45) and Malli Sahoo (35) were arrested Thursday for setting Rinki Behera (11) on fire at Balinali village under Barkote police station in the district of Deogarh. As per reports, Rinki and three of her friends had allegedly stolen some pomegranates from Majhi Pradhan’s garden Wednesday. But when the owner inquired about it, despite others cautioning Rinki disclosed names of her friends, with whom she had stolen the fruit, to the garden owner.
The next scene was awful. The two furious women, mothers of her friends went to Rinki’s house when she was alone. They allegedly poured kerosene on her and burnt her to death before fleeing from the scene. It was too late when the villagers rushed to the spot to rescue the innocent girl. They immediately took her to a nearby hospital but she was declared dead there.
It has also been learnt that the two women have confessed to the crime.
