It will not be wrong to say now that the national capital Delhi has turned in to a hub of rape. Merely ten days after the brutality and rape case of a five-year-old girl, now another six-year-old girl was found sexually assaulted and slit throat. She was found bleeding from wounds all over her body in a men’s public toilet in Southeast Delhi’s Badarpur on Friday.
According to police, the police control room received an alert around 3.30 pm after a man walked into the toilet and found the girl standing semi-nude and crying. The man came out and informed the security guard in the area.
A PCR call was made by her uncle after she was identified and the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital and then taken to AIIMS Trauma Centre, where she underwent a surgery and her condition is stable – as per police.
A team of senior doctors from AIIMS, who examined the child, confirmed that she had sustained grievous genital wounds which required surgical intervention and grave blade-like injuries on her neck. Doctors said, prima facie, it appeared that the child was raped, but they were awaiting reports of laboratory tests to confirm rape.
