The Airport of Authority of India’s decision to offer free night parking to airlines at the Biju Patnaik International Airport, has received huge response from the airliners, including IndiGo and SpiceJet.
As per the existing guidelines, the Biju Patnaik Airport in Bhubaneswar, remains open from 6 AM till 10 PM. To woo more airliners to Odisha, the state government had recently reduced the VAT on Jet Fuel to 5% from 20%. After the reduction in VAT and introduction free night parking service, IndiGo has decided to fly five more flights from Bhubaneswar.
In addition, SpiceJet has also offered to start new services. Apart from that, FlyDubai (Bhubaneswar-Dubai), Air RBR (BBSR-Saudi Arabia), Silk Air (Bhubaneswar-Singapore), Qatar Airways (BBSR-Abu Dhabi) and IndiGo (BBSR-Bangkok) flight operations will begin soon.
