TNI Bureau: The government finally took a strong action against Thane SP and Palghar SI suspending them from their job over the Facebook arrests row. Their suspension notices were issued for disobeying the order of Konkan IG.
The cops were suspended after the probe report submitted by IG, Sukhwant Singh, Konkan Range, termed the arrests of two girls as ‘unjustified’ and recommended the actions the police officers, who had arrested the girls for posting anti-Bal Thackeray comments on Facebook.
Even the Bombay High Court has transferred the Palghar judge, who had sent two girls them to judicial custody and later granted them bail. The girls Shaheen Dhada and Renu Srinivasan were arrested for posting on their Facebook on the day of funeral of Shiv Sena patriarch Bal Thackeray over Mumbai shutdown.
