TNI Bureau: The great resistance shown by England batsmen in the second innings of Ahmedabad Test finally came to an end, as the team bowled out for 406. But, they should be happy that they avoided an innings defeat. India need just 77 to win the test match and take 1-0 lead in the four-match series.
Resuming from the overnight score of 340/5, England lost Prior for 91 and the Alastair Cook for 176. Pragyan Ojha claimed both wickets. For India, Ojha took four wickets, while Umesh Yadav took three. Zaheer Khan took two wickets.
India had scored 521/8 in the first innings. In reply, England scored just 191 and had to follow on. In the second innings, the Poms showed great resolve and made 406.
