The Odisha Government has taken a historic step by dropping key courses Engineering and Architecture from the Odisha Joint Entrance Exam (OJEE) from 2014. The state will now join the All India JEE (Mains), which will be conducted across the country in April 2014.
The offline examination will be conducted on April 6, while the online examinations will be conducted on April 9, 11, 12 and 19. Along with Odisha, Gujarat and Maharashtra will also join the All India JEE (Mains) from next year.
There will be two ranks from the candidates appearing from the state. The State rank qualifiers can study in Odisha, while the all-India rank holders can study in any education institutions in the country.
The All India JEE (Mains) is conducted by the CBSE. It serves the gateway for the students to get into the National Institutes of Technology (NIT) and the Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIIT). The top merit rank holders get a chance to join the IITs.
Please Note:
1) The OJEE officials will continue to hold the counselling for State rank holders.
2) All Deemed Universities in Odisha will have reservations for State rank holders.
3) The All India JEE (Mains) examinations will be held in Bhubaneswar, Rourkela, Berhampur, Sambalpur, Balasore etc.
