Dutee Chand – Fastest Woman of India

Sprinter Dutee Chand of Odisha made her state proud by becoming the fastest woman of India. She won double gold medals in 100m and 200m at the 53rd National Open Athletics Championship. The Asian Championship bronze medalist prevailed upon her rivals to achieve the feat.

In 100m race, Dutee clocked 11.73 secs, while she took 24.02 seconds to claim the yellow metal in 200m. Dutee has won a bronze medal in 200m at the Asian Championship in Pune earlier this year.

Amiya Kumar Mallick of Odisha bagged the 200m gold with a timing of 21.22 secs to give double delight to his state. Although Dutee Chand hails from Odisha, she currently plays for employer ONGC.
