Durga Shakti’s Suspension: The Inside Story

There is a huge uproar over the suspension of young IAS Officer Durga Shakti Nagpal, who became a victim of the tirade launched against her by the sand mafia. However, the Samajwadi Party government in Uttar Pradesh is adamant on punishing her for no fault. Here’s an inside report on the incident.

Durga-Shakti-NagpalThe LIU (local Intelligence Unit) report, which was cited by UP CM Akhilesh Yadav as the basis for taking action against Durga Shakti Nagpal, clearly says that the the SDM was not present at the spot when the “illegal wall” of a mosque was demolished at the Kadalpur village of Noida (Gautam Budh Nagar) on July 27.

The wall was reportedly demolished by the locals, as the wall was built on the land of Gram Sabha. Jewar SDM Bachhu Singh monitored the demolition, while the Circle Officer (CO), Jewar, Waseem Khan, and the SO (Raghupura), Ajay Yadav, were also present on the spot at that time. Neither the LIU report nor the DM’s report indicted Durga Shakti Nagpal. Still, the adamant Akhilesh Yadav took action against her under tremendous pressure from sand mafia and other politicians, who shield them.

Durga had launched a major offensive against the sand and mining mafia and made things difficult for them. That was the reason why she was targeted and the politicians from Samajwadi Party played a key role in her suspension. The LIU report indicts Samajwadi Party leader Narendra Singh Bhati, who had reportedly given Rs 51,000 for the construction of the mosque. He had laid the foundation of the mosque on June 15. After Durga’s suspension, Bhati told the huge gathering at the village that he got her suspended in just 41 minutes!

Bhati’s kin and close associated are involved in the sand mining racket in Noida and adjacent areas. Both Mulayam and Akhilesh have destroyed Uttar Pradesh and will do more damage to the political system of the country with their manipulative tricks and strategies.

While the Samajwadi Party indulges in minority appeasement politics, the Uttar Pradesh Waqf Board has made it clear that Durga Shakti Nagpal was trying to reclaim Waqf land, which angered the sand mining mafia active in the area. The Waqf Board gave a clean chit to Durga and indirectly indicted the UP Government. That shows the real game played by the Samajwadi Party.
