DSP Murder: CBI gives Clean Chit to Raja Bhaiya

As expected, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has given a clean chit to five-time Independent MLA from Kunda, Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya in connection with the gruesome murder of then Kunda DSP Zia-ul-Haq. Raja Bhaiya had to resign from the UP Cabinet after his name cropped up in the case.

Zia-ul-Haq was killed by a mon on March 2, 2013 in Balipur village of Kunda in Pratapgarh district. He had gone to the village to control violence, which was triggered by the killing of Village Pradhan Nanhe Yadav and his brother Suresh Yadav.

Raja Bhaiya and eight of his aides too got a clean chit in the CBI report. The CBI made it clear that they were not at all involved in the murder of the DSP. A lie detection test was also conducted by the CBI on Raja Bhaiya in New Delhi.

Soon after getting a clean chit, Raja Bhaiya met Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav to seek his blessings and press for a re-inclusion into the Cabinet under CM Akhilesh Yadav.
