Delhi Gangrape: 3 Accused confess to Crime in Court

TNI Bureau: Three accused in the gangrape of the 23-year-old girl in a private bus on Sunday night have confessed to their crime in a Delhi court on Wednesday. Four have been arrested so far, out of them three admitted to their role in the heinous act after they were produced in the Saket court today.

Three accused Pawan Gupta, Vinay Sharma and Mukesh, the brother of main accused Ram Singh, confessed to their crime. While first accused Pawan Gupta told the court that he has committed a horrible crime, second accused Vinay said that he was involved in the crime. He confessed that he had beaten up the girl’s male friend. The third accused Mukesh agreed to undergo an identification parade.

Mukesh will undergo the test on Thursday at Tihar jail, while two others refused to do so. The main accused Ram Singh has been sent to five days in police custody by the court. He is the driver of the bus inside which the girl was gangraped.

While Mukesh is the cleaner, Vinay is an assistant gym instructor and Pawan is a fruit seller. Meanwhile, police claimed to have detained the fifth accused in Bihar. Another one is still absconding.

Raising voice against the growing crime in the city, massive protest was witnessed outside Chief Minister Sheila Dikhsit’s residence today. Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde has discussed with the top police officials to prevent the crimes.
