Delhi police commissioner Neeraj Kumar made an appearance after 96 hours of the gruesome incident that sparked a massive protest in the national capital. Under public pressure, he promised to take strong action against the accused involved in the brutal crime.
Talking to media persons today, he admitted that there were shortfalls on the part of local police to handle the case. The policemen, who had allegedly offered bribe to the victim’s family, their identity will be ascertained soon.
He resorted to statistics saying, rapes are opportunistic crimes and 97% are committed at homes. However, a lot has been changed since December 16 incident that had shocked the entire nation.
