David Coleman Headley sentenced to 35 Years in Jail

Date:

TNI Bureau: In a big development, David Coleman Headley, the key conspirator in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, was sentenced to 35 years in jail. He escaped the death sentence and extradition to India, Pakistan and Denmark under a bargain plea with the US government.

Headley was found guilty on 12 counts. The 52-year-old Pakistani-American LeT terrorist was sentenced by the Chicago Federal Court. US District Judge Harry Leinenweber said that it would have been much easier for him to impose the death penalty, as Headley deserved that only.

Earlier, Headley’s key aide Tahawwur Rana was sentenced to 14 years for bombing a Danish newspaper and aiding the LeT, but he was acquitted in the 26/11 attacks case.
