Court orders Musharraf’s Physical Remand in Bhutto Killing

Former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf faced another jolt as he the Anti-Terrorism Court has ordered his physical remand in Benazir Bhutto assassination case. He will be under house arrest till April 30.

Musharraf is already serving two-week house arrest, which will expire on May 4, at his farmhouse for sacking judges after he imposed emergency rule in November 2007. The former military ruler will be under house arrest in the second of three cases for which he was arrested since his return to Pakistan on March 24 following four years of self-imposed exile.

He is accused of conspiracy to murder former Prime Minister Bhutto, who was killed in a suicide attack in December 2007.

Musharraf is confined to two rooms at his plush villa in Islamabad where he has been put under house. He is restricted to have all the facilities at home. Even he has been barred from the next month’s general elections.
