TNI Bureau: Skipper Alastair Cook and Kevin Pietersen added unbeaten 110 runs for the third wicket to put England in a comfortable position on the Day 2 of the second test match in Mumbai. Cook is moving towards another hundred in this series.
Earlier, England bowled India out for 327 in the first innings. Pujara scored 135, while Ashwin made 68. Monty Panesar took five wickets, while Swann took four.
England’s openers Cook and Compton started things on a positive note, as they added 66 runs for the first wicket. Compton fell to Ojha at 29. Jonathan Trott lasted just six balls and out for a duck. Ojha claimed his wicket too.
However, Cook and Pietersen prevented further damage and took the score to 178/2 at stumps. Cook was batting on 87, while Pietersen was batting on 62.
