Congress begins ‘Samvad Baithak’ in Surajkund

TNI Bureau: The Congress Party has begun a two-day ‘Samvad Baithak’ in Haryana’s Surajkund today. Among others, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, Congress President Sonia Gandhi and AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi are attending the conclave.

The Congress took six special buses from Delhi to reach Surajkund. Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi also took the bus ride. Even the PM wanted to go by bus, but he was advised by the SPG not to take a risk. The party wants to give a message to the people that it is not anti-poor or anti-farmers and may take many austerity measures to win back the trust of the common people.

The Congress is facing a lot of trouble over various corruption issues, price rise, fuel price hike, FDI in Retail etc. The party has decided to go on a drive for an image make-over and at the same reach out to the masses, letting them know about the policies and strategies it has undertaken or going to take.

The ‘Samvad Baithak’ will not only discuss these issues, but also may decide on giving some concession to people on the LPG cap. Also, the party may give higher responsibilities to Rahul Gandhi, keeping the 2014 polls in mind.
