Community Policing Service launched in Cuttack

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated community policing service ‘Ama Police’ in Cuttack to mark Odisha Police Foundation day today. The service aims at making police more efficient and to resolve several issues keeping better co-ordination with public.

The service was launched at Markat Nagar police station. The scheme will be implemented in other regions in several phases. Under the scheme, a police station will be divided into several beats. A police of the ASI rank, Havildar or Constable will act as a Beat police officer and try to increase contact with public and family of the beat area. The officer will be easily accessible to public for the issues.

The service will help the police department to rebuild its good image before public.
