In a shocking incident in China, a newborn baby was found in a sewer pipe. The two-hour rescue video raised few questions on the intention of the little one’s mother, who delivered the child in a toilet.
She told that the baby was slipped into the sewer line soon after the delivery. She could not pull the child out. The baby was trapped in the L-joint of a sewage pipe just below a squat toilet in one of the building’s public restrooms.
The woman came under scanner after police found baby toys and blood-stained toilet paper in her rented room on Saturday in the Pujiang area of Jinhua. The video (the rescue of Baby No. 59, his incubator number in the hospital) aired on Chinese channels and also uploaded on few websites on Monday, stunned the world. The mother’s confession also raised a question about whether she wanted to abandon the child. The baby weighed six pounds, 2.8 ounces, had a low heart rate and some minor abrasions on his head and limbs, but was unhurt when he was rescued.
