TNI Bureau: Asia’s first theme park “Angry Birds” will be opened in China next year – announced Rovio Entertainment, the company behind the wildly popular mobile and internet game “Angry Birds” Wednesday. The first China theme park will feature an interactive playground and rides, which can accommodate up to 400 visitors per day and the admission fees to the park, would be 60 yuan that is equivalent to $9.50.
During the launch of a playground on the campus of Shanghai’s Tongji University having with similar facilities, the Finnish company announced that the said theme park would be located in Haining city in China’s Zhejiang province, next to the commercial hub of Shanghai and the park would be open by Chinese New Year next year, February. This proposed theme park will be the firm’s third theme park after one in Finland and another in Britain.
The first of its kind, an ‘Angry Bird’ theme park was opened in April at the Sarkanniemi Amusement Park in Tampere in Finland, while the second one was built in August at Sundown Adventureland in Nottinghamshire, U.K. Both these parks made by Rovio Entertainment, the makers of Angry Birds, feature Angry Birds-inspired swings, climbing frames and slides, which will also be part of the proposed park in China.
The company has also reportedly initiated a huge advertisement partnership campaign with McDonald’s that includes TV ads and Angry Birds labels inside restaurants. Yet, the most entertaining element would be a giant slingshot attached to the Golden Arches with Red Birds, ready to be flung from the other end. This would be quite a big luring feature for the kids as well as the youngsters, which may help sell a huge number of tickets to the new theme park.
China has the world’s second-highest number of downloads for Angry Birds at 190 million that is just behind the United States’ record. The mobile game involves using slingshots to launch birds at fortress built by evil green pigs. The game is the world’s most-downloaded app.
