China snubs India Again, No Breakthrough in Flag Meet

China snubbed India once again as there was no breakthrough at the second flag meet in Ladakh. China refused to budge and the meeting ended with no solution. The defiant China insisted no air incursion by their troops. India wanted the Chinese to withdraw their troops from Depsang, where they have been present for the last one week.

India government was looking forward to resolve the trouble with China in the Ladakh region peacefully. The difference of perceptions on the line of actual control (LAC) were to be discussed at the flag meet today, in the interest of the nation to maintain peace after Chinese helicopters flew over Depsang in Daulat Beg Oldi (DBO) sector in Ladakh on April 15.

The Local military commanders met to resolve the situation arising out of the incursion by Chinese troops in Daulat Beg Oldi (DBO) sector in Ladakh. The ministry of external affairs (MEA) said that it was a localised event in that sector to discuss the issue with neighbouring country China. The Chinese were asked to maintain status quo prior to this incident. Meanwhile, the Army chief Gen Bikram Singh has reached Jammu and Kashmir and will take stock of the situation in the region.

India had raised the issue with China last week during the first flag meeting on April 18, immediately after the incident of the Chinese incursion came to light. It was reported that the Chinese troops had also set up tent in Depsang.

There have been several violations by the Chinese in the past. Earlier, Chinese helicopters had dropped cans of food in Chumar, Ladakh. In March, Chinese helicopters violated Indian Territory in Himachal Pradesh.
