TNI Bureau: Naxal-hit Kanker district in Chhattisgarh will receive the prestigious award from the Centre for implementing successfully the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA) in fiscal 2011-12.

According PTI report, Kanker district and ‘Gatapara’ gram panchayat of Rajnandgaon district of Chhattisgarh have been selected for the award by the Central government for successful implementation of MNREGA.
Additional Chief Secretary of Chhattisgarh Panchayat and Rural Development department Vivek Dhand informed the media about the achievement of the district and the panchayat.
