The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) became the first team in the IPL 6 to qualify for the play-off. They thrashed the Delhi Daredevils by 33 runs. Skipper MS Dhoni played the anchor role in CSK’s victory.
Earlier, Chennai won the toss and elected to bat first. They posted 168/4 in 20 overs. Dhoni remained unbeaten on 58, while Mike Hussey (26), Murali Vijay (31) and Jadeja (24) were the other contributors. Umesh Yadav took two wickets.
Chasing a victory target of 169, Delhi Daredevils finished at 135/9 in 20 overs and lost the match by 33 runs. David Warner was the top scorer with 44. Johan Botha made 23. Albie Morkel took three wickets, while Mohit Sharma, Ashwin and Dwaybe Bravo took two wickets each. Dhoni was declared ‘Man of the Match’.
