Chandrababu Naidu favours Telangana State

Ending all speculation and ambiguity over his stance on the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu has cleared the air, saying he favours a separate Telangana state, but opposes the manner things are being done, resulting in a crisis in Andhra Pradesh.

Naidu said, “You cannot divide a state without delivering justice to everyone. And, we want to same in Andhra Pradesh. The Telugu Desam Party always supported the demand for separate statehood to Telangana”.

The TDP had backed the carving out of Telangana state in a resolution adopted in October 2008. Naidu’s five-day-long fast ended yesterday after the cops forcibly took him from the fast venue at Andhra Bhavan to Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) in New Delhi. However, Naidu is adamant and said he would continue with his fast.
