Cargill acquires Sunflower Vanaspati

TNI Bureau: US company Cargill has acquired Wipro’s Sunflower Vanaspati for an undisclosed amount. Although Cargill has not revealed the amount it is going to spend, market analysts have pegged the deal at Rs 40 crore.

Cargill, which has an estimated turnover of Rs 4,000 crore, has made the fourth acquisition this year. With this, Cargill will control a major stake in the edible oil and vanaspati brands in Indian market.

Cargil produces Rath, NatureFresh Purita and, Gemini. At the same time, it markets Nature Fresh and Sweekar.
