The sensex fell by 52 points to close at 18,618.87 points at the close. The 90-minute muhurat trading is being held at the BSE Sensex on every Diwali soon after Laxmi Puja. This year, the decline was attributed to fall of banking, financial and technology stocks.

Although the start of Samvat 2069 was not good, market experts believe that situation may not last long and the BSE Sensex will register gains in the coming weeks.
