TNI Bureau: The main opposition at Centre BJP has decided to launch a country-wide ‘jail bharo’ agitation on June 22 against price rise in essential commodities that is putting heavy burden on public.
The party is demanding for rollback of petrol price hike. BJP national general secretary Ananth Kumar said that the party would hold protests to put pressure on the UPA government to control the inflation before the monsoon session begins.
Recently, the petrol prices were cut Rs 2 per litre after a massive protest across the country against the petrol price hike.
The nation-wide strike called by NDA had forced the government to reduce the petrol prices Rs 2 per litre. People had demonstrated and outraged when the state-run oil firms increased petrol price Rs 7.50 per litre.
