TNI Bureau: AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi showed his immaturity in politics, by making an unwarranted comment, which triggered a national outrage. During the mega rally at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi, Rahul said that the Congress Party supported the BJP-led NDA during the Kargil War and sought reciprocation from the saffron party on policy issues on that ground.

All political leaders and intellectuals were shocked by Rahul’s statement. The BJP asked whether the Congress did a favour to the government by backing it during a war situation. The BJP further said it becomes the duty of all citizens to support the government during any external aggression or war and the Congress just performed its duty. But the party expressed shock and surprise that Rahul Gandhi chose to take credit for that.

The Shiv Sena too slammed Rahul Gandhi and said the AICC General Secretary forgot that Pakistan had attacked India and the people of India rallied behind the government at that time.
