The BJP is ready for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls to challenge Congress with campaign plan by announcing its election management team under the leadership of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
The party formed 20 sub-committees, which will report to the central campaign committee. Former party president Nitin Gadkari has been given an important role in the team. He is in-charge of the campaign for the Delhi assembly polls scheduled later this year. He will also prepare party’s vision document for the Lok Sabha polls.
The 12-member central election committee includes, Murli Manohar Joshi, Venkaiah Naidu, Nitin Gadkari, Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley, Ananth Kumar, Thawar Chand Gehlot, Ram Lal, BJP’s three other CMs — Shivraj Singh Chouhan (MP), Raman Singh (Chhattisgarh) and Manohar Parrikar (Goa).
Senior leader Murli Manohar Joshi will be responsible for the 2014 poll manifesto. The publicity campaign will be led by Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj and Amit Shah.
A four-member team of Shah, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Trivendra Singh Rawat and Poonam Mahajan will campaign for new voters. The party has decided to hold more than 100 rallies across the country and those will be arranged by Venkaiah Naidu, Ananth Kumar and Varun Gandhi. The election campaign will start from August.
Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Prakash Javadekar and Tamil Esai will be responsible for mobilising intellectuals. Nitin Gadkari, Uma Bharti, CP Thakur, JK Jain, Mridula Sinha to head a committee for campaigning in unorganised sector.
BJP will make a chargesheet against the misrule of the UPA. This will be headed by Gopinath Munde and Ravi Shankar Prasad. Piyush Goel will handle Facebook, WhatsApp and other social media for party’s promotion and campaign. Legal matter will be handed by Satpal Jain, Bhupendra Yadav, Pinky Yadav. Logistics co-ordination team will be headed by Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi. Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Sudha Yadav, Renu Kushwa will be responsible for software by BJP for coordination of booths across country.
All the campaign committees will be steered by Narendra Modi. The decision was taken on Friday evening at a meeting and Modi is committed to perform his role meticulously after he was elevated to the post of election campaign chief in Goa in June. However, it will be a collective campaign for the polls.
