Bihar Government insults Braveheart Martyrs

Indian territory is safe because of our brave soldiers, who have been on their duty round the clock. However, the political leaders would not understand their value unless they face war like situation. The recent statement by Bihar minister Bhim Singh over the deaths of Indian soldiers at the LoC sparked huge protests and strong reactions from the statesmen and public.

Although, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has expressed regret for the comment made by his cabinet colleague Bhim Singh, but it shows the government and politicians’ attitude towards Indian soldiers, whose lives are dedicated to the nation. The question arises, what the minister wanted to prove with such insulting statement?

Bhim Singh, who is Bihar’s Panchayati Raj Minister, has apologized for his insensitive remark, but he could not be excused by the martyrs’ families. By delivering such statement, he not only insulted Indian soldiers, but also the country, whom we worship as Mother India or ‘Bharat Maa’.

Instead of condoling the deaths of the soldiers killed by Pakistani troops at the LoC in the Poonch sector in Jammu and Kashmir three days ago, the minister insulted them by saying, “Sena aur police me log marne hi jate hain (people joined the Indian Army and the police force just to die)”.

It can be noted that not a single minister was present at the Patna airport to receive the bodies of the martyrs – Sepoy Vijay Kumar Rai, Lance Naik Shambhu Saran Singh, Premnath Singh and Sepoy Raghunandan Prasad from 21 Bihar regiment – who were among the five soldiers killed along LoC.
