Temple city Bhubaneswar, which had population of only 50,000 six decades ago, is now the fastest growing city and the destination of students and industrialists. The state capital celebrated its 65th foundation day at PMG Square today.
The school children and different organisations performed parade to mark the day. The parade programme was attended by ministers, MPs, MLAs, Mayor, councillors and government officials. At least 13 people received ‘Rajadhani Gaurav’ honour for their achievement in various fields.
The fast growing city has now around 8 lakh population. Despite drainage and sewerage problems in the city, it boasts of its new flight terminal, twin city bus service, special bus for women and world class educational institutes.
