TNI Bureau: Baripada Town police today arrested the Principal of Baiganbadia College, Baripada Sri Pradip Rout and forwarded to court on charges of cheating. The principal now landed in a local jail.
It is known from police sources that, the principal along with two others have duped several people by taking their deposits to make it duble in certain time but has failed to deliver the assured amount through its Marangburu financial chit fund company.
Earlier Rout was also relieved on a bail from High Court for similar offence; and this time a councilor has filed a FIR with police.
The teaching fraternity came with sharp criticism following the arrest of the principal, as the latter is drawing around half a lakh rupees per month as salary from government, but engaged in a fraud chit fund business.
Meanwhile, the students community and civil society have urged for a special probe for this issue suspecting other teaching staff of the college might be involved in such cheating cases which ultimately affect their first and foremost duty i.e. teaching.
