Hosts Malaysia failed to produce any miracle, as Australia beat them 3-2 in the final to win the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup Hockey tournament for a record seventh time. India yet again defeated Pakistan to finish fifth in the tournament.
In the final, Malaysia fought hard, but the Kangaroos prevailed in the end. South Korea got the bronze medal by defeating New Zealand 2-1.
