TNI Bureau: In a landmark victory in the patent dispute against Samsung, Apple finally proved that its chief rival had copied its design elements. Even the US giant will get $1.049 billion from the South Korean firm.

The nine-person jury of a US court took the side of Apple’s claims that Samsung has violated the US firm’s patents while competing against iPhone and iPad.

Apple and Samsung, which have dominated the Smartphone and tablet markets in the world, have been fighting with each other in several countries over the patent issue.

After the verdict, it is expected that a number of companies selling smartphones based on Google’s Android operating system may now face law suit from Apple. Recently, the US giant has occupied the place as the most valuable firm in business history beating Microsoft.
