Apple iPhone 5 Pre-orders breach Records

TNI Bureau: Apple announced that the pre-orders of its latest Smartphone, iPhone 5 has crossed the two million mark merely in just 24 hours of its opening for taking orders on September 14. The demand for iPhone 5 has exceeded the initial supply.

The iPhone 5 is claimed to be the thinnest and lightest iPhone ever. The device comes with a 4-inch retina display, an A6 chip, improved battery performance and works on 4G networks as well. It comes loaded with iOS 6, Apple’s latest mobile operating system that has 200 new features, including a new Maps app, Face book integration for Contacts and Calendar, Passbook, and new Siri features.

The current record regarding the pre-orders of iPhone 5 is double the previous record of one million held by iPhone 4S.

Majority of the pre-orders will be delivered to customers on September 21, many are scheduled to be delivered in October.

“iPhone 5 pre-orders have shattered the previous record held by iPhone 4S and the customer response to iPhone 5 has been phenomenal,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “iPhone 5 is the best iPhone yet, the most beautiful product we’ve ever made, and we hope customers love it as much as we do.”

Apple Online Store (www.apple.com), Apple’s retail stores, and through AT&T, Sprint, Verizon Wireless, select Best Buy, RadioShack, Target and Walmart stores and select Apple Authorized Resellers.
Adding to the rapidly growing hysteria for iPhone 5 experts has also opined that the pre-orders of the iPhone will breach the 10 million mark in just a week of its announcement.
