Odisha reports 1st Coronavirus Death; 72-year-old Man Dies

TNI Bureau: According to State Health Department, a 72-year-old male from Jharpada area in Bhubaneswar, dies of COVID-19 – 1st Coronavirus death in Odisha.

He was admitted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar on 4th April with complaint of respiratory distress. He had history of chronic hypertension. He expired on 6th April and tested positive for COVID-19, as tweeted by the Health Department.

Contact tracing and containment is ongoing.

Earlier, a 45-year-old man in Madhusudan Nagar, Unit-4 in Bhubaneswar, tested positive for COVID-19. The number of +ve cases in Odisha has gone up to 42.
