MayaOnly four days ago, Mayawati’s BSP had organised a Dalit-Brahmin rally in Lucknow to seek their support in the 2014 general elections. The verdict comes as a big blow to Mulayam Singh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party and BSP’s Mayawati, who are known for doing caste-based politics to achieve their political goal.

In North Indian politics, caste plays a major role in determining the political landscape of the state. Uttar Pradesh and Bihar witness the most caste-driven politics in India.
