Bipasha Basu starrer horror film ‘AATMA’ is not a film with the traditional Bollywood treatment for horror films with scary faces and bloodsheds. More than that the film also houses love between three members of a family and how they react to the supernatural happenings around them.
Bipasha is not new to horror films. But this film portrays her in a different aspect. Here she is not romancing with the male protagonist but making effort to save her daughter from the ‘Aatma’, the spirit of her dead husband. Bips is the best element to watch on the screen. She looks completely fit to the sequence.
Award winning actor Nawazuddin Siddique is excellent like his earlier films. If we are not telling big, he may be nominated for some award for this film.
A lot of things are missing in direction. Suparn Verma should take care of these loopholes next time.
Music by Sangeet-Siddharth is weak. Neither the tracks are soothing enough to remember, nor does it go well with the sequence.
Cinematograhy by Sophie Winqvist could be better.
The film can be watched for once for Bipasha and Nawazuddhin.
