BCCI appoints Sandeep Patil as New Chief Selector

Date:

TNI Bureau: Former Test cricketer Sandeep Patil has been appointed as the new Chief Selector of a five-member selection committee of the Indian cricket board. However, Mohinder Amarnath, who has already completed his one year in the committee, was shown the exit door.

The 56-year-old Patil replaced K Srikanth amid the reports that Roger Binny will take over as the chief selector at the annual general meeting of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Other members of the five-member selection committee are Roger Binny (South), Vikram Rathore (North), Saba Karim (East) and Rajinder Singh Hans (Central).

It is a huge setback for Amarnath, whose score had helped team India to win World Cup in 1983. He has been dropped in the panel.
