India win 2 Gold Medals at CWG 2014

India won seven medals, including two gold medals on the first day of Commonwealth Games 2014 at Glasgow. Sanjita Khumukcham Chanu won the gold in Women’s 48kg Weightlifting, while Mirabai Chanu took the silver in the same event.

Sanjita-SukhenSukhen Dey won the gold medal in Men’s 56kg Weightlifting. Ganesh Mali took the bronze in the same event. Sukhen had won a silver medal in the last CWG in New Delhi in 2010. In Hockey, India women beat Canada 4-2.

Indian Judokas produced brilliant show by winning two silver and one bronze medal. Navjot Chana won the silver in Men’s 60kg, while Shushila Likmabam won the silver medal in Women’s 48kg. Kalpana Thoudam won the bronze medal in Women’s 52kg.
