90 Live Bombs recovered from IM Hideouts
In a major breakthrough, at least 90 live bombs were recovered from the hideouts of Indian Mujahideen in Mangalore and Hyderabad. The recovery was made following the interrogation of IM co-founder Yasin Bhatkal. It is believed that Indian Mujahideen was planning serial blasts in Southern states such as Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh to disturb communal harmony.
The IED devices were found at the Ephyr Heights in Mangalore and Abdullapur in Hyderabad. The recovered materials included sharpnels, explosive, ammonium nitrate and other bomb-making materials.
Yasin Bhatkal was arrested from Nepal border on August 29. He is still under the custody of NIA.
