In the letter, Puri Collector urged that the festival be observed only as per the traditional tithi and customs followed in Puri.
Following this, the Sikar Tehsildar also requested the Khatu Shyam Temple Committee to stop the Ratha Jatra. They appealed to organizers to adhere to the rituals and calendar observed in Puri, the abode of Lord Jagannatha.
