TNI Bureau: Rajya Sabha MP Sujeet Kumar has sought registration of an FIR against Odisha Director General of Prisons and Correctional Services Susant Kumar Nath and Choudwar Circle Jail Senior Superintendent Sujit Kumar Raula, alleging their involvement in a larger conspiracy linked to the escape of two undertrial prisoners from Choudwar Circle Jail.

In a complaint submitted to the IIC of Choudwar Police Station, the MP alleged that the two officials were involved in facilitating or aiding the escape of Subham alias Raja Sahani and Madhukanta Kumar alias Rana from the jail on the night of October 2-3, 2025. He also alleged criminal conspiracy, suppression of facts, forgery of signatures, manipulation of documents, tampering of official records, misuse of official position and attempts to obstruct a fair investigation into the incident.

Stating that the allegations go beyond the scope of the FIR already registered in the jailbreak case, Sujeet Kumar has demanded a separate FIR and an independent investigation under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. He urged police to conduct a comprehensive probe by examining all relevant records, communications, electronic evidence and witnesses, citing concerns over prison administration, institutional integrity and public safety.
