Hats off to Suresh Raina whose wonderful blows led his team to victory against Hyderabad. Chennai won by 77 runs at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Wednesday night. This is Hyderabad’s first loss at home in this IPL season.

A dominant Chennai posted a mammoth score before Hyderabad. They scored 223/3 (20.0 Ovs). However, Raina was unlucky not to get a 100.

The chase was not easy for Hyderabad and the team was restricted at 146/8 (20.0 Ovs). Parthiv fought bravely, but got out at 44 off 30 balls. Karan Sharma helped the team to finish the overs.

Raina was the Man of the Match for his knock of 99 off 52 balls. He hit 11 boundaries and 3 sixes.

Perhaps Hyderabad’s decision to field first after winning the toss was wrong. Their loss will affect their all important net run rate as well.
