7.3 Quake hits Japan, Tsunami Alert Issued

TNI Bureau: A powerful earthquake, measuring 7.3 on the Richter Scale, hit Japan’s northeast coast today. A tsunami alert has been issued in the region. Tsunami is expected to hit Iwate Coast at around 5:40 PM.

Miyagi Pefecture, which was worst hit by the March 2011 tsunami, could be hit again by the tsunami. Further details are awaited.
