TNI Bureau: The Crime Branch has seized 40 bank accounts of Hi-Tech Group, the real estate giant of Odisha, following the arrest of managing director Tirupati Panigrhai and his two relatives in land fraud case.
The crime branch sleuths have seized 40 passbooks of 13 banks during the raid at the office of the real estate firm at Sahid Nagar.
Meanwhile, the Crime Branch has registered 549 cases so far after the complaints came from Bhubaneswar, Pipili, Delhi and Mumbai. The future of the group seems to be in darkness with the arrest of Panigrahi and his relatives Tirupati Choudhury and Madhusudan Panigrahi on December 25 last year.
The firm came under the trap after two people complained that they were not provided residential plots but have been paying money since 2009. Panigrahi, who owns two private medical colleges and several professional institutes along with the real estate firm, was arrested for allegedly cheating 12000 people, who were promised to be provided residential plots in Bhubaneswar.
