TNI Bureau: Odisha government is planning to give the status of deemed university to state’s three premier colleges including Rama Devi (RD) Women’s Autonomous College, Bhubaneswar, Khallikote Autonomous College, Berhampur and Gangadhar Meher (GM) College, Sambalpur.
If the proposal will be granted, it will be proud moment for the colleges, which take credit for producing the talented students.
Higher education minister Badri Naryan Patra said that his department will review the infrastructure facilities available in these colleges before taking the final decision.
The students of these colleges have been demanding for the deemed university status. The proposal came after the Vice chancellor of Berhampur University J K Mohapatra appealed to the minister to call a conference all vice chancellors in the state to review the problems faced by universities.
