TNI Bureau: Twin blasts struck the Syrian capital Damascus sending a strong note against President Bashar Assad’s regime. This is the latest hit in the ongoing uprising in the country. However, no casualty has been reported so far.
The two explosion hit near the army and air force command headquarters emitting vast columns of thick black smoke over the city.
As per SANA, Syria’s state-run news agency, a fire broke out in the area after the twin blasts, which struck just before 7 a.m. (local time) near Omayyad square.
One of the bombs is expected to have been put on the inner side of the fence around the grounds of the army command building.
It was further reported that the explosions were followed by heavy gunfire, suggesting security forces clashed with gunmen in the high security area.
