If we believe a recent study conducted by IRIS Knowledge Foundation and Internet and Mobile Association of India, social media will have a bigger role to play across 160 Lok Sabha seats in India. The study has identified these constituencies out of 543.
Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala will have 12, 11 and 10 such seats respectively, while 9 Lok Sabha seats in Madhya Pradesh will listen more to social media. In Delhi, all seven Lok Sabha Seats will be under the impact of social media. Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan have 5 seats each, while Bihar, Chhattisgarh, J&K, Jharkhand and West Bengal will have 4 high impact constituencies each.
With the Congress and BJP locking horns on social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter in a huge way these days, the study seems to have given right predictions about the impact of social media on 2014 polls.
